This Blog will discuss politics, government, corruption, police, S.I.U., courts, education, min. of attorney general, min. of labour, v.o.i.c.e. and other current and past events of interest to concerned citizens. In the "About me" section to the right and down I have included the names of persons whom I have tremendous respect for. Their influence on me however has been primarily environmental (and personal) and this is therefore a disclaimer that all words posted on this Blog/Website are mine and I alone am responsible for them. I say this with the greatest respect and affection to my friends.

CATHOLIC SCHOOLBOARD FIRES TEACHER

Well I'm sorry but sometimes a double standard or at least a flexible standard is required. In the case of Mrs. Lavigne, she is undoubtedly guilty of bad judgement which is not a criminal offence. Last Saturday's Waterloo Region Record carrys this story " High school teacher fired over sex with her student". Along with the overall bad judgement one could certainly add that she is a horrible judge of character. Of all the possible eligible males to have a fling with she picked the one who had no couth, no character, no manners and certainly no conscience. For him it was all about immediate fun combined with longterm social enhancement and aggrandizement. He was bragging to his multiple buddies before, minutes after and subsequent to that about having his way with the female teacher.

Without any thought apparently to her, her family, her immediate job and her career he cheeerfully threw her under the bus. He was not 'victimized" in any way, shape or form. He has not been traumatized or exploited in any way, shape or form. If anyone was vulnerable and naive it was the teacher, not the student. Readers of this Blog know that I rarely have much sympathy for teachers but this case is the exception. Crown prosecuter Melissa Ernewein "has said she will seek a substantial jail term.". Oh that is such a good idea. I'm sure that a stiff jail sentence will do two things: 1) It will put in sharp focus society's hypocritical stance on sexual misconduct 2) it will cause sufficient guilt that the real perpetrater (the boy) will be forever cured of his immature and selfish attitude towards a sexual partner. Oh we should all be so lucky for that to happen.
