MORE RAILCAR DERAILMENTS

As per today's Waterloo Region Record it appears that railcar derailments followed by ruptures of crude oil are occuring at a rate of four per month in Canada and the U.S.. The title of the article is "Rail car upgrades urged". What these most recent derailments have shown is that the latest rail car designs still are inadequate. There have been "...major fires, polluting waterways and forcing evacuations.". The propoese new federal regulations will give rail shippers until 2025 to upgrade tank cars to higher safety standards. Expect more disasters between now and then.
