JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED
The title of today's posting is in regards to a civil suit that is potentially about to start in Toronto this week. The Waterloo Region Record carried the story this past Monday titled "Kitchener man's civil trial stemming from G20 to start". The man, Luke Stewart, filed his statement of claim in 2011. Seven years it's taken to merely get close to starting in court. That is pathetic. Literally witnesses could have died, retired or simply disappeared. That is not justice.
The G20 Conference occurred in June 2010 in downtown Toronto. Mr. Stewart claims he was assaulted and detained illegally by Toronto Police Services. He is suing the Toronto Police Services Board. Furthermore his personal property, a pair of swimming goggles were seized from him. He was attempting to attend a legal protest and had the goggles for defensive purposes in case police deployed chemical weapons (tear gas). This apparently is the only civil suit to date to have gotten this far. There have been other minor legal actions taken against police including one criminal conviction for assault.
Proof police are above the law just watch how fast the lawsuit gets delt with against kitchener police I bet it don't take 7 years
ReplyDeletePolice are above the law takes 7 years for citizen to see justice .police officer forcibly murdered a citizen on a bus with a hand gun and imediate got bail ..that's proof. Any citizen wouldn't of got bail and would stayed in jail till sentencing that's what happened to my son was immediately arrested stayed in jail till sentencing and got 4 years for defending his life with a handgun.equal right my asss that's bull shit clearly aswell as the officer who tazed the bullet riddled boy as he lays on bus clearly at that point not a harm to anyone what does the other officer do step into buss and tazer him that's excessory to murder atleast would been if been citizen clearly proven to be excessory to murder and the sickening part is its happened time and time again police shooting or murdering un armed citizens.....police will always get away with murder like they have done in past welcome to Canada were police are above the law
