SUING THE ONTARIO GOVERNMENT
As per the September 20, 2018 article in the Waterloo Region Record titled "Lawsuit over "solitary" in jails certified as a class action", it once again appears as if our own government are incapable of following the laws of the land. The class action lawsuit is seeking damages of $600 million and includes inmates with severe mental illnesses as well as any inmates who have been in solitary confinement for fifteen days or longer. Also at issue is administrative segregation in which inmates are isolated either to ensure their own safety or that of others in the institution.
The lawsuit alleges that the provincial government has been negligent in their use of isolation by leaving prisoners for weeks, months or even years in isolation with no concern for the health consequences to them. It is claimed that solitary confinement can greatly exacerbate already existing mental health conditions. Of course our government using taxpayers money will spend as much as they want defending against this lawsuit, regardless of the merits of the claims.

Finnally society is realizing jails treat inmates like animals and guards laugh about it.Only makes sence you lock up a person with mental health issues and treat them the way guards do its a no brainer why a lady killed herself in kitchener jail.the female guards did nothing but ignore her as she killed herself and the female warden got promoted to gravenhurst a men's jail in Beaver creek. We're once again a sick inmates cries for help were ignored even when inmates yelled at guards the inmates were ignored next day the inmates dead.so no I agree images should start suing after all were giving out millions for police making sexual remarks. Truly inmates who been treated the way they've been deserve millions too .Guards and police like to treat others with no respect and it's about time people stood up and sued police and prison guards.Although people with mental health issues if violent should be isolated till fit to join population if possable.Its prisons job to protect inmates and guards.Im old fashion and believe a violent person with mental health issues should be in a mental instatution possibly for life if a danger to public or them selves.And solitary confinement should be used for violent offenders who are a danger to others inmates or guards. Also Serial killers I don't know why we don't bring back death penatly save tax payers millions witch could be spent on welfare or disability seniors day cates.Yet here we are treating serial killers like movie stars for rest of there life.When there was a death penalty criminals thought twice about killing some one.Now one can only get few years it's a no brainer murders are on a rise and will continue to get worse.Kids today can't be spanked no wonder there mouthy with no fear.im sure if they brought back the strap our younger generation wouldn't be soo out of control.But yes I have to agree that inmates deserve to be able to get a few million same as women who say they been hit on by fellow workers.equal rights criminal or police officer or jail guards should be held accountable and treat others as they want to be treated..
