This Blog will discuss politics, government, corruption, police, S.I.U., courts, education, min. of attorney general, min. of labour, v.o.i.c.e. and other current and past events of interest to concerned citizens. In the "About me" section to the right and down I have included the names of persons whom I have tremendous respect for. WE THE SHEEP MUST BE MOLLIFIED

So refreshing to know that Liz Witmer, chair of the (corrupt?) WSIB, has ordered a review of the files of 300 hundred former rubber workers. Of course there may very well have been 3,000 whose health and lives were affected by the working conditions in various rubber related factories around Kitchener-Waterloo but that's beside the point for the WSIB, the Ministry of Labour and our provincial government. It's all about scoping at the very start so just in case an adverse decision results, you've already limited the financial damages to your budget and the damages to your credibility and reputation.

Today's Waterloo Region Record carries the following story titled "Rubber Town: Workers, families hope for answers from WSIB review". The skeptics aka knowledgeable people are blunt in their assessment of the alleged promised review. "It's a public relations exercise." It's also a bureaucratic, minimum one year exercise by the WSIB. Allegedly it's all about the science and the records and what individual workers can prove they were exposed to according to Scott Wilson a WSIB board member. I believe that that is primarily nonsense. Why should the workers who are now sick and dying have to "prove" anything other than where they worked and from when until when? They were never given the records of which chemicals were in which departments. They were never given written lists of the chemicals in the products by the factories. The science of solvent poisoning has been available since the late 1800s and in the ensuing 100 years and more the science has only become more definitive and more obviously hazardous.

WSIB spokesperson Christine Arnott suggested that they want to undertake a review in a "thoughtful and deliberate way using the best approach." She also advised that they are working deliberately to put a plan in place as soon as possible." Isn't that just sweet? In my opinion they will indeed be deliberate and thoughtful in putting together a plan. They will deliberately take as long as humanly possible in order for as many as possible sick rubber workers to pass on thus lowering the financial liability of the WSIB. Is it even possible that managerial bonuses are at stake based upon the numbers of rejected claims that are overturned in the review as in the fewer overturned past decisions the higher the bonuses?

My father worked for Uniroyal in Elmira for twelve years and then for thirteen years at the Breithaupt Street plant. The Breithaupt Street plant has been mentioned twice in this series as having very polluted air. I wonder as in Elmira if the neighbours were also adversely affected by the fumes from the plant? By the way my father became sick a year after retiring and died at age seventy-three.

  1. Another case of government corruption this time by WSIB.Everyone knows WSIB are professional loop hole con artists.Wsib is quick to take you're money but when people need to get help back from WSIB lots of luck.15 percent was approved seriuosly that means the other 85%got shafted screwed over and lied to by WSIB. That's government and insurance industry for you and the WSIB needs to see a civil suit launched by everyone who's sick or died.the company owners should be sued ifnot held criminal responsible for exposing workers and not informing workers.Failing to protect workers is something that companies can be held criminally responsible for.And even more liable and responsible when it leads to death. The job for WSIB is to compesate but also look for loop holes so they can deny claims same as insurance agencies.Rubber industry is same as tabbaco industry deny it causes cancer.Until proven does cause cancer. Now it's been proven the rubber industry is a cancer causing job they need to be held liable and criminally responsible for the continued use after knowing these chemicals cause cancer. THE WSIB Should be ASHAMED for denying 85%claims and I'm sure it would be more like 90%denied and there's a lot of workers who died from cancer due to neglect by companies and the government to fail to protect its workers.Figures the biggest con artists our government the onse who take our taxes each work week hasn't demanded z civil suit because the government knew the chemicals are cancer causing .No wonder cancers on ride and I'm guessing but it's obviously clear both government and the rubber industry failed to protect rubber workers that's totally criminal.Seems like Canada is following USA foot steps when it comes to cover ups and deny claims.Area 51 in states exposed workers to radiation ,cheminals, and when workers or there families filed a law suit the government steps in and says can't investigate due to national security.Other word's found a loop hole nobody got a cent.Going to be interesting to see if canada is going to compensate everyone in the rubber industry same as tobacco industry. But seriuosly the workers need to sue factories and the government for failing to protect there workers instead of looking other way and looking for loop holes to avoid compensation. Our governments knew rubber industry causes cancer and failed to shut them down. And now is failing to compensate 85% of canadains.I also think we need to have a review of the actual numbers who died from cancer and have got cancer but unknowingly wasn't informed by the employer or our government.Sad canadains have died due to criminal neglect by both government and employer's. .I say file a civil suit against both the companies snd government.
