ABUSIVE ONTARIO TRAINING SCHOOLS BETWEEN 1931 AND 1984



The Waterloo Region Record carried a story yesterday titled "Abuse was rampant at Ontario training schools, suit alleges". These training schools were for truants, runaways, those convicted of minor crimes and or had inadequate adult supervision. They were designed for children between the ages of 8 and 16. These children became Crown wards and were cut off from all family support. Even without the alleged abuse that went on it can be seen as to how problematic this whole idea of removing children from their parents was. A class-action lawsuit has been filed against the province seeking $600 million on behalf of children and youths sent to these facilities in Oakville, Cambridge, Lindsay, Bowmanville, Simcoe, Port Bolster, Hagersville, Cobourg and Guelph. Physical, mental and sexual abuse are part of the allegations in the lawsuit.

If nothing else has become very clear it is that government institutions just like private ones that are not transparent and accountable will end up abusing their authority. It seems to be the human condition that most of us can not responsibly or decently handle authority over our fellow human beings. Examples abound throughout history and none of this should be any kind of remote surprise any longer.

    Seems our government the onse who stole land from.natives claiming it as found land and for other countries for settlement with no regards for natives.give them alcohol n talk them into trading land when drunk.Natives been fighting terrorizem since 1492 the poor struggle to feed there kids and put roofs over there heads or risk loosing you're kids to government witch called natives savages sort of like united states the bombed endlessly in there fight to keep oil interest and only created terrorist hens sept.11 was paybacks from gulf war .it's growing states have created so many terrorist and wars no wonder it's most hated country full of terrorists and they call people who are tryn to get pay backs terrorists. We can be thankful natives font commit terrors attacks and settle peacefully in courts showing there not savages.Its only right our government soon to be the biggest drug dealers in world compensate our original land owners for the government's thefts slaughters massicures genocide it's about time governments were held accountable Just wish states would be more accountable help rebuild cities n courier they leveled but I doubt that ever happen there still denieing global warming exists even after record amount tornados floor hurricanes forest fires Trump says there's no such thing as global warming doesn't believe in it .Glad he's not in charge of Canada But seriously pot sales will help Canadians in many ways it'll keep taxes from rizing create another Jian revenue witch will help our debt and help pay off lawsuits create money for homeless n elderly I said 2 decades ago legalize pot n tax it if they'd done it back 2 decades ago we wouldn't have a deficut our farmers would have a more profitable cash crop instead of loosing farms growing thing only government says can grow in hopes farmers loose land do cities can buy land to expand converting farm land into subdivisions maybe that's why the government won't allow farmers to grow pot the populations still growing expanding an they need more clear farm land.natives been smoking pot and using it for medicinal n cerimony. Don't let the government fool you they knew medicinal properties for pot but prefers to legalize alcohol and cigarettes things that poised and you can overdose on I yet to see warnings on alcohol as there planning to put on pot . at least it's impossible for our children to overdose on pot compared to alcohol seems they legalized wrong drug but that's cause united states didn't want hemp paper interfering with the pulp and paper industry that was owned by relative on one of the United states hover mentioned. ...go figure.its about time Canada Legalized something that could have saved farms long ago helped deficut help keep taxes down looks like our government is listening finnally to the people just wish they'd listened to natives about pot wed be riches country by now pot more exspensive then oil per gram.
