THE THREE STOOGES - ENVIRONMENT, LABOUR & TRANSPORTATION

Just to be fair there are other provincial ministries which careful examination over decades will convince you are also either incompetent, corrupt, or poorly managed. Justice is one that comes to mind quickly. Interestingly these provincial ministries don't appear to either improve or get much worse regardless of which party is currently in power.

Today we'll look at the Ministry of Labour and the Workman's Compensation Board (ie. WSIB). Oh by the way I long ago nicknamed it Larry. The Ministry of Transport I call Curly and of course the Ministry of Emvironment is Moe.

Today's Waterloo Region Record carries the following story titled "Worker's compensation system needs overhaul, expert says". The funniest line in a non-funny story is "His report could lead to a modernizing of the way Ontario assesses workers' claims for restitution-a contentious issue today after sick or injured employees gave up their right to sue their employers more than a century ago." Yes I remember it well. There was a huge referendum and lots of media and overall explanations by government reps along with guarantees of worker input into the decision making of the Compensation Board. Bull....!

The expert Dr. Paul Demers is pulling no punches when he states that "The workers' compensation system is over 100 years old , and it hasn't kept up with the times." He also has stated that "...it has failed to adapt to the hazards some work[places have exposed people to."

The science behind workplaces causing cancer and other diseases has been with us for decades and even longer. It is a huge red herring pretending that simply more knowledge and more science are required. What is required is more humanity, more compassion and especially more honesty all in short supply with those in charge of our compensation and labour laws.

  1. Ministry of transportation found 70 something infractions with the transport company involved in Humboldt bus crash that killed alot of young canadain hockey player. So that makes the ministry of transportation partially liable for not pulling the trucks off the road aswell as allowing the company to continue to operate. But they shift sll blame on the poor trucker who was tired over worked and just tryn to live the canadain dream.Lack of records for hrs driving was one charge and in sure the main reason for going thru a stop sign.Yet the ministry of transportation says the found multiple infraction beside no log book for hrs of driving Yet the ministry didn't pull there buissiness licence. The ministry had more then enough evidence and found multiple infraction and wrecklesly allowed this company to continue to endanger the publics saftey aswell as the trucker who was just tryn to provide for his family. CONGRATULATIONS MINISTRY OF TRANSPORTATION LOOK AT THE LIVES LOST AND FAMILIES WRECK DO TO YOU'RE NEGLECT TO UPHOLD THE LAW.Youre failure to pull the trucking companies lisence has cost many lives.A young and newly hired truckers live has been ruined thanks to our ministry of transportation who is there to make sure companies maintained trucks keep logs it could been prevented. The ministry of transportation aswell as the officers who wrote up the charges dhould sll be held accountable and be charged fined n suit. But that won't happen the ministry shifted the blame and I was surprized the ministry even boasted sbout over 70 infractions yet allowed the company to operate especially with out carrying a log book.witch prevents such accidents. After hearing about the ministry having ample reasons snd time to prevent this tragedy but didn't makes them more liable then the young trucker who had only been working for this company gor 6 weeks. There needs to be a inquiry into the failure of our ministry to uphold there own laws escalate into a soo many deaths.A real honest judge we easily see the ministry failed to due there duties and the whole accident could been avoided.Shame on our ministry of transportation and there employees that dealt with the company.

  2. Ministry of labour is no better then ministry of transportation they both over look complaints refuse to take responsibility to protect canadains lives or there health. They allow canadain to work in conditions that cause cancer and other aliment s.Our canadain government ran Comercial for reasons why they were legalizing and becoming the world's largest drug dealers.Saying canadains need a safe product snd that's 1 reason why they wanted to legalize pot .Yet they sell weed that's rotten and mold, waz sll over the news how they don't inspect any products so how can they say it's safe. Its great Canada has legalized pot we need jobs snd a new revenue to help our deficit and struggling canadains. But ministry needs to practice what they preech inspect all pot to make sure it's safe before it's allowed to be sold.Inspect every grow operation instead of never inspecting as they presently do.Im assuming it's why the government pulled it's Comercial saying it's for a safer pot product because there yet to inspect grow operations and even growers are surprized they been in operation few years and have yet to see anyone ftom ministry to either count plants or inspect final product.what a go ministry you bluntly wrecklesly continue to put more canadains lives at risk then blame growers.just like ministry transportation in the bus crash shift blame yo owners of companies....becoming canadain tradition way of blaming there negulant ways onto others when shit hits the fan...

  3. Ministry of environment is more of a cash grabber laying big fines on companies who polute yet allow them to continue to operate.Carbon tax ,fines for polluting ground ,water, air.and setting dates years ahead to comply or reduce is what endangers canadains lives, aswell as puts unborn babies at risk. Our waters are soo poluted the government shut down most fish plants down in east coast waters.Fish are dissappear ing from poluting and over fishing from other countries that continue to drag net the oceans witch deplenious fish, we are tryn to save for future generations. There needs to be better leaders of our ministries, the ones we have in charge now.. well the proofs in the pudding and by the numbers of sick and Died of cancer.witch they say 1 in 2 canadains will get cancer. And we don't need longer wonder why.Its our government criminal negulant ways that continuously look at profits more then a Canadain health and risks.
