PRE-TRIAL POLICE LAWSUIT WRANGLING GOING ON

It's not just the evidence and nothing but the evidence. It's more about the scope of the trial and what you can get excluded from ever being part of the trial. This is what the lawyers for the regional Police and the civilian Police Services Board are now attempting. Today's Waterloo Region Record carries the following story titled "Prof's evidence to proceed in police lawsuit". It appears that a University of Waterloo prof who consulted with Chief Bryan Larkin on various matters will get her day in court. The Force's lawyers wanted her testimony denied at trial claiming that she was either unqualified or her opinions irrelevant on matters directly related to female officers who had confided in her about police wrongdoing which she later discussed with the Chief in hopes of improving the situation.

Among other tidbits to which the public are now privy is the one about the senior Regional Police Officer running down the road naked after being caught in a compromising situation with a married woman (not his wife). The Judge decided against allowing that evidence to proceed despite the Plaintiff's lawyers suggesting that it indicated a double standard whereby female officers were disciplined for minor matters whereas senior, male officers were not disciplined even for public, major breeches of either decorum or the law. Imagine that, males in authority actually flagrantly abusing their authority. Who knew? The reality is that human beings in positions of authority with little or no accountability will always abuse that authority in favour of their own perceived interests. Surprise! Surprise!

  1. Proof police are above the law seinor officers not being charges for commiting sexual offences. Not only that the cheif refuses to name the officer that murdered a young adult. The officer should been charged with murder or use of exsesive force at the leat. But no he wasn't charged and says was self defence while officers call it suicide by police.Well assisted suicide is illegal in Canada. NOBODY BUYS SELF DEFENCE.trained and armed officer who has several options of subduing the distressed boy , instead he uses deadly force. If it had been a citizen youse be branded a murderer.name all over news snd papers as a murder.a citizen wouldn't have made bail a citizen would have been sentenced to mandi tory 4 years mininum.Police are above the law.Not 1 charge not even a apology.the cheif needs to step down instead of cover up, downplay charges refuse to charge aswell as refuse to name officers.Thats aiding and abetting his fellow officers by obstructing justice. The cheif should be charged for obstructing justice failing to protect public and fellow officers from the sexual predators, and murderers he has on his police force. You have I think was 4 officer suing for over 160 million.Luckly citizens haven't rallied together to file lawsuits or it would be in billions or trillions.Kitchener police cheif needs to step down instead of cover up down play refuse to charge officers but verry quick to charge a citizen.Police are clearly above the law if a citizen assaults a officer he got 15 days weekend I believe.5 year ban on guns.Reverse that and the officer would been found innocent not charged and not spent a day in jail and wouldn't have had a five year gun ban.the officer that murdered z kitchener boy has yet to be named charged or had wepons ban.The police can and have stocked murdered ,sexually assaulted ,assaulted, harrassed, citizens with no regards for human rights. And we pay for there professional services .While our cities raise taxes to cover there lawsuits and then scramble to look for ways to make money to cover rising costs. SIMPLY STUPID.

  2. If somebody working for you costs you millions in lawsuits, common sence says fore them.law says investigate and charge them. Not our police chief he denies and looks for professional help to avoid lawsuits and hides the murderers and sexual predators on his force and has failed the public to do his job for protecting public let alone citizens.Shame on him and shame us for allowing such a courupt cheif in charge. We need to put a sign up as I remember the police forces are hiring and they may aswell put sign up hiring sexual predators can apply for jobs on our force.

  3. I meant common sence says fire them.every officer named in lawsuit aswell as the cheif for tryn to cover up deny downplay failing to allow his officers to do as they please costing tax payers in the billions now.And there's more lawsuits to come .We need a police chief that's willing to clean house .Not look for ways to have the lawsuit thrown out.The officers are guilty Jeff hall another officer was charged for sexual assault took 5 or 6 months to charge Jeff hall same as the officer at the October fest club months till they charged the officers .In Baden the locals called Jeff hall kitcher reject because when officers get too many complaints in the city the send them to small towns it's what we called kitchener rejects. Seems Jeff Hall has burned both bridges in kitchener and in country small towns were he worked as a officer for kitchener police force he has assaulted citizens and denied it even when found guilty hr died assaulting a baden boy and refund to apologize. I'm guessing Jeff Hall will try and deny his new charge .Alot of local in baden celebrated seeing Jeff Hall let go on charges of sexual assault and breach of trust. If I had cheifs job hede been fired back decade ago and there would have been another officer up on sexual offence charges.Sucks we don't have a police chief who cares sbout public saftey and takes preventing lawsuits seriously.a total disgrace to any force
