MORE ON THE WRDSB & RON ARCHER-PEDOPHILE



Yesterday I received two comments here on the Waterloo Region Advocate. They were posted on the June 23, 2012 posting I did titled "Cream (Sour) Rises To The Top". I attempted to transfer the two comments in their entirety unsucessfully here to today's posting. That said I encourage readers to go through my Archives on the right side of the page. They are a little awkward in that you need to first of all click on 2012 and up will come December (31?) 2012. I then tried to find June 2012 unsucessfully so what I did then was to scroll to the bottom of the page on the screen until you get to Newer Posts and Older Posts. Click on Older Posts and then do it again ie. scroll down. Keep doing this until you come to June 23, 2012. There are currently 13 comments for that posting and one of the two from yesterday is the last one and the other is part way down the 13 comments/replys.

I believe that at least one of yesterday's comments are from another one of Ron Archer's child victims. Surprisingly Archer was only prosecuted for the crimes against Michael Schmidt. During his trial there was testimony regarding many other students being abused or mistreated. This somewhat flies in the face of Gord Stuckless of Maple Leaf Gardens infamy who has been prosecuted at least two or three times on various child molesting charges with various complainants. It kind of makes me wonder how Ron Archer got away with but one conviction after what we were told was a long career as a teacher/pedophile.

While both Comments are shocking and refer to a long history of victims I will quote several sentences from one of those comments. Keep in mind these Comments are anonymous but my opinion is that they are the real deal. Here goes : "That a teacher known to be a sexual predator was given time and space to commit his crimes is unconscionable. That he was allowed to carry on this behaviour harming so many children for so many years is unforgiveable.".

And Finally from the same Comment: "All these years later I am furious with Archer and the many teachers and administration who knew what he was doing to boys he was entrusted to care for.".

After this public trial why was the Waterloo Region District School Board not investigated via a public inquiry or otherwise? Why were the guilty parties who enabled this abuse to continue for so long not charged and or disciplined? We all know that the Catholic Church has been held accountable for their crimes in covering up child abuse by their employees (priests). Why not our public school board?

    I. Knew Ron Archer as a Student at Stanley Park Senior Public School about 1980 - 1981. I made a cassette recording of a weekend school function during this time. It was made at a camp called Camp Emassador. And I have posted it on my YouTube page. There is two audio clips of that outing posted. There are 5 teachers that you can hear on the recordings, and one of the teachers is Ron Archer. I am very concerned about this whole issue in general.       Ron archer was my grade 7 homeroom teacher at Wilmot Senior. I remember being pulled out of class and escorted to the guidance office by him. The office was empty. It was just the two of us. He instructed me to sit down. Ron archer then called my home to speak to my mother about me writing a swearword in my journal. This entire conversation with my mother was on loudspeaker. It was blatantly, obvious that Ron was delighted in watching my uncomfortable reaction based on the things he was saying to my mother. I knew at this point this man is power-hungry. He enjoyed humiliating people. Making them stand with their nose, touching the wall in front of other students as a form of discipline.
      Run Archer is a very dangerous man.

      Ron archer had a selective boys club.
      Usually students from a broken home.
      They were easy to spot because of a leather lace type necklace that was given to them.

      I know a number of schoolmates that wore these necklaces.

      I have a great deal of respect for the gentleman that stepped forward and exposed Ron Archer.
      I am sure there are more Archer victims out there.

    I actually had Archer as a teacher in grade 7 and was in the same class with the 2 victims who were in grade 8 at the time(had a grade 7/8 split class). We were friends with the Schmidts and they would always tell us how they would go on these camping trips with the teacher and we would give them money they would then give to Archer who would go buy us beer and cigarettes with it. We always thought they had a weird relationship with him and then our suspicions were confirmed years later. There was a reason me and my friends never went on the year end camping trip with him. I wonder how many other victims there is?

      There are so many victims. He hasn't stopped. He's still cruising boys at community centres.

      A 76 year old unnamed man was arrested Friday July 7, 2023. He was "cruising" children at a community centre in Kitchener. I'm wondering if it's Archer? Could be someone else. Does anyone know exactly how old Archer is now? Here's the news link:

      Archer was my teacher in grade 8 at Stanley Park, mid 70s. I remember he invited kids out to his property on some weekends. I don't remember if girls were ever invited. I never was invited. He liked to spend social times with the boys in class. I witnessed him criticizing (in class) a girl for smoking and hanging out at the mall during lunch. He made one inappropriate remark to me which I won't repeat here. In addition, I remember handing out books in class one day and a discussion ensued about the appropriateness of my dress between one male student and Archer. I remember Archer saying he "liked it", referring to my dress. I remember being embarrassed by the discussion in front of the whole class.

    I had misfortune of being in the presence of this man in school year 1979-1980 at Stanley Park Senior Public School. I'd like to note that other than the encounters behind closed doors with this mans grotesquely inappropriate conduct unbecoming a teacher/guidance councilor/born again Christian charade he portrayed,all was well at that institution,generally,for i. This mans predacious nature was unclear to myself and several other students,both male and female.in which the most inappropriate subject matter he chose to discuss behind closed doors of business/interactions between students that was none of his business.Shocking and brought a couple of girls to tears directly following these encounters in his guidance councilor office.One of these girls came back to class crying after being with this guy and the teacher stormed out of classroom to that office and tore a strip off Archer.We complained only to have it swept under carpet. Archer stopped even acknowledging the presents of 4 students,including i,for the remainder of 8th grade.I only attended Stanley Park for that *th grade year.Previous 3 school years i was in Frontenac County School Board in Kingston Township,as it was known prior to amalgamation.7th grade at Henderson Place Public School,kindergarten to 8,had a man like Archer,too.Complaints about this man with a lust for 11-13 year old girls.He got arrested,too,for sexual assault.A young girl,many years after i attended that school.Time has long since passed of vetting/psychological profile of 'educators' prior to being hired by school boards.Here we are 2022 and the problem of sexual deviants in education system is worse than ever before.Shame,shame,shame.

    Having been a student of Archers at spsps, and a39 yrs employee of the wrdsb, i can tell you the abuse started long before Stanley Park. He was tranfered from forestglen sps in newhamburg on. The administration at the time dealt with these issues by sending them of to another school. Its terrible to think it may have been ended yrs before the Schmidt case
